About the company

Swarovski was founded in 1895 and deals with the production of accessories and fashion articles. The headquarters is in Austria (Wattens), but the company also has an office in New York.

What was impressive?

Right at the beginning we were warmly welcomed and were very impressed by the great office space and the beautiful view. In 2010, Swarovski had already recognized the big topic of "Sustainability". Meanwhile, the company has been extremely successful in the implementation of business ethics topics. What impressed us most was that the company not only tries to comply with the 17 SDG, but also provides flexible working hours for its employees. Swarovski pays particular attention to mothers with children, who have the opportunity to use their own company day care centre. In addition, the Instagram and LinkedIn communication channels are used twice a year to publish sustainability reports.

What did we learn?

In the latest 2019 Sustainabiltiy Report (https://luxiders.com/sustainable-luxury-swarovski-report-2019), Swarovski speaks of the 5 strategy priorities:

  • Women's empowerment
  • Water stewardship
  • Fair partnerships
  • Conscious design
  • Sustainable innovation

The company has developed a variety of initiatives and programs to improve its sustainability strategy.
