About the comany

Estée Lauder was founded in 1946 and specialises in the manufacturing of perfume and cosmetic products. Its headquarters is in New York and its turnover is 11.26 billion dollars.

What was impressive?

Mrs. Espinosa gave us a very nice welcome and conveyed an open and cordial company culture. Estée Lauder has long had a great awareness of a sustainable environment and sustainable products. To this end, reports are produced and published several times a year. Events are held at regular intervals to raise employee awareness. It is noteworthy that around 200 employees in the entire company already deal with the topic of sustainability in various areas. In addition, efforts are being made to equip both existing and new buildings with renewable energies. An impressive goal is that between 75% and 100% of the packaging should be recyclable by 2025.

What did we learn?

Estée Lauder's long-term success depends on its ability to make informed decisions to implement sustainable practices within the company. All sustainable products must be tested before they can be placed on the market. This takes a lot of time and effort. There is increasingly more demand by consumers for sustainable products, but the investment required to manufacture them is not passed on to sales prices.
